Taco Dip with Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Salsa

This taco dip using Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Try it for your next gathering.


  • 1 16-oz can refried beans (you can use spicy, vegetarian or regular)

  • 8-oz package cream cheese

  • 8-oz container of sour cream

  • 1 jar Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Salsa

  • 1 bag of chopped romaine lettuce

  • 6 oz shredded four cheese Mexican blend



  1. Spread refried beans in the bottom of a casserole dish.

  2. Mix together cream cheese and sour cream.

  3. Spread mixture over beans.

  4. Pour Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Salsa over cream cheese/sour cream mixture. (The more the better.)

  5. Top with chopped lettuce.

  6. Sprinkle cheese on top.


Note from recipe contributor: I’ve been making this since my college roommate introduced it to me in 1980. Making it is a lot easier now… back then you couldn’t buy jarred salsa so you had to cut up tomatoes, onions and use taco sauce. Today you also have more options for different kinds of refried beans.
