Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce Tuna Burger

This tuna burger recipe using Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper sauce sets the bar high. We already knew Minorcan Mike’s was great on seafood, but this tuna burger takes things to a whole new level. Featured at Penn’s Tavern, this signature dish takes a seafood favorite and gives it a unique flavor that’s sweet with a little heat.



  • Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce

  • 1 ½ pound seasoned albacore tuna, rinsed and patted dry

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/3 cup dried bread crumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Vegetable oil

  • 6 brioche buns

  • Lettuce

  • Sliced tomato

  • Homemade Minorcan Mike’s Mayo



  • Horseradish Pickle

  • 1 white onion (sliced)

  • Cheese of Choice (sliced)


  1. Finely chop the tuna with a chef's knife. Place tuna in a bowl and mix in lemon, onion, parsley, relish, bread crumbs and eggs until well combined. Season with salt and pepper and 1-2 tsp Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce for flavor. Shape tuna mixture into 6 round patties. Brush both sides of tuna burgers with vegetable oil and season again with salt and pepper. Cook the tuna burgers in a non stick skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes each side until they are cooked through.

  2. Serve on brioche buns with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onion, horseradish pickles, and Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce Mayo. Serve with a side of French fries!

*Mayo: 2 parts Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce mixed into 3 parts mayo
